Amesbury - Wayne F. Yell, 76, of Amesbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

Born June 5, 1949, in Newton, NH, Wayne was the son of the late John A. and Evelyn P. (Bailey) Yell. He grew up in Newburyport, MA, and made Amesbury his home since 1988.

Wayne proudly served his country, drafted into the U.S. Army and spending 11 months and 3 days on the ground in Vietnam. After returning home, he began a lifelong career as a deckhand on tuna fishing vessels out of the Yankee Fishermen's Cooperative in Seabrook.

He was a former member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Governor Bradstreet. An avid outdoorsman, Wayne loved deer and turkey hunting and enjoyed playing pool with his brothers.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Joceline Lapointe of Amesbury; his goddaughter, Gabrielle Lapointe, with whom he shared a special bond; and her brother, David Lapointe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his sister, Raylene Tetreault, and brothers John, Richard, and Edward Yell.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dawn and Natalie and the rest of the nurses at Care Dimensions and Kaplan Family Hospice house for the extraordinary care they provided Wayne.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 4–6 p.m. at Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. A service will follow at 6 p.m., with military honors. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
