Salisbury/Ipswich - Timothy Player, 76, died Monday afternoon, November 10, 2025 in the Highpointe Hospice House in Haverhill after a long illness. He was the life time partner of 39 years to Rena R. Pomerleau.
Born in Ipswich on June 7, 1949, he was the son of the late John S. and Marie (Kemnitzer) Player.
Born, raised and educated in Ipswich Tim was a graduate of Ipswich High School, Class of 1967. He was a longtime employee of Soffron Brothers of Ipswich. Later he retired from A.W. Chesterton Company of Groveland. Tim enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He also enjoyed his annual vacations to Las Vegas with his family. He was a resident of Ipswich for most of his life.
Tim is survived by, in addition to his partner Rena, his sister, Sheri Strength and her husband Grant of Satellite Beach, FL. He is also survived by five nieces, Katie Player, Amy Player-Smith, Sarah Player, Beth Gillander and Marie Zarate and one nephew, John Strength, his sister-in-law, Rita Player and by several great-nieces and great-nephews. Tim is also survived by his partner, Rena's children, Walter Pomerleau, Lynne Pomerleau and Sherri McGrath. He was also predeceased by his two brothers. John Player, Jr. and R. Daniel Player.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, November 19th. from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich to be followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Ascension Memorial Episcopal Church 31 County Street, Ipswich. Burial will follow the funeral in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
