Byfield - Theresa (Poore) Woodbury of Byfield, MA, passed away early Saturday morning, with her family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband, Bryan and their two sons, Trent and Baelor. She is also survived by her mother Peggie (Beaulieu) Poore and step-father Paul Harnois, sisters Emily Poore and Joan (Poore) Vogtman and husband Tom and nephews Kyle, Karl and Colin. She will be deeply missed by her in-laws, Steve and Cindy Woodbury, and Jen, Justin, Eric and Eleanor Leonard. She was predeceased by her father David Poore. Her network of friends who became family is too vast and numerous to count.

Theresa was born on October 10, 1981, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She was a lifelong learner, graduating from Pentucket Regional Senior High School in 1999 and Lesley University in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Human Services and a Master's of Business Administration in 2022. She also completed her Master's of Public Health from Southern New Hampshire University in 2026.

Throughout her life, Theresa focused on serving others from earning her Girl Scout Gold Award in 1998 and extending to her professional life where she served in town government for over twenty years as a Council on Aging director in West Newbury and Hamilton. She was awarded the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women's Unsung Heroine Award in 2016 and the Massachusetts Council on Aging Director of the Year in 2017.

Theresa was a constant figure on the sidelines of her sons' sporting practices and competitions, cheering everyone on while working on her latest 'nervous knitting' project.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to medical professionals at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center for their kindness and care over the last three years.

In accordance with Theresa's wishes, her body was donated to UMass Medical School to help further the education of young doctors. No services are planned at this time.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Young Lung Cancer Initiative or the Woodbury Family Fund to support her family and her boys' future needs.
