Stella Rose Drougas, died peacefully on Friday morning October 7, 2016 at Care Dimensions Kaplan House, Danvers, were she was given the ultimate of love and care.

Born March 30, 1930 in Ipswich, She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosalia (Grapka) Owsiak. Stella lived most of her life in Ipswich with her beloved husband George who predeceased her. She retired from GTE Osram and spent the last years of her life enjoying time with her best friend and sister Winnie, children, grandchildren and their friends. She will always be remembered as “Gram” to many. Stella lived the last 12 years of her life in Amesbury with her daughter and son-in-law.

She is survived by her son, Peter and his wife, Nadine and daughter Catherine and her husband, Michael Lewis, all of Amesbury, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by one sister, Winifred Owsiak of Ipswich. She was predeceased by one brother and three sisters.

The family would like to thank some very special people who helped Gram to live her life to its fullest up until her final days: To Dr. Curtis Ersing for providing our mom with the best medical care possible and to allow her to enjoy her life like she did. To her sister, Winnie for always being there for her and for all her love and support. To Jean Bruce and the staff at Brigham Manor her second home on so many occasions, for loving her like family. To Care Dimensions for putting up with “Rosie” and allowing her to stay at home with us for so long and to make her final hours so precious to us all. And last but not least to her son-in-law, “Mikey” for spending almost every single day with her and making sure she was always okay.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 11, at noon in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Ipswich. Burial will follow in the New Highland Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Tuesday in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
