Seabrook - Seabrook - Shirley W. Merrill, 87, of Seabrook, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

She was born in Newburyport, MA on February 3, 1938 a daughter of the late Ralph and Abbie (Blaisdell) Furbush. Raised in Salisbury, she made Seabrook her home after marrying her future husband of 33 years the late Clifton Merrill Jr. who predeceased her in 1999.

She worked her entire career for Owens-Illinois which spanned over 38 years before retiring as a color tech.

Shirley loved to knit, specifically afghans which she made for all of her family. She also enjoyed the beach and watching the boats come and go, cooking, her camp in Parsonsfield, ME and most of all spending time with family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

Surviving family members include her sons, David Dow of Seabrook, Alan Merrill and his wife Theresa of Northwood and James Merrill and his wife Audra of Fremont and many grand and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sons, Ralph Dow and Richard Merrill and siblings, Ralph, Melvin, Donald and Jackie Furbush, Carol Stanley, Donna Bishop and Marilyn Bishop.

Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 28, 2025 at the Rand Memorial Congregational Church, 134 South Main Street, Seabrook, NH. Burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery, Seabrook.
