Sherrie J. Linsky Obituary

Newburyport - Sherrie J. Linsky, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 21, 2026 at Holy Family Hospital following a period of declining health. She was 84 years old.


Born on March 11, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Frances and David Tanner. Sherrie graduated from Malden High School in 1958.


In 1959 she married her beloved husband Gerald "Jerry" Linsky and they shared many happy years of marriage while raising 3 children. In 1971 they moved to Newburyport to raise their family.


Sherrie worked in retail for many years before joining her husband at the family owned hardware store in Salisbury, where they worked side by side until their retirement.


She loved to knit and crochet. She enjoyed playing bingo for many years in Newbury and Seabrook. Above all, her greatest joy was her family, especially her 4 cherished grandchildren


She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jerry and her son Michael. Sherrie is survived by her daughters, Alison Linsky of Newburyport and Barbara Hilton and her husband Fred of Bradford; her grandchildren, Frank, Zachary, Matthew and Melissa; her brother Stephen Tanner and his wife Susan of Needham along with many loving nieces and nephews.


The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Cedar View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen for the exceptional care and compassion they provided

Services will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 11 A.M. at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.
