West Newbury - Sherrie Ann (Alexander) Carroll, age 74, of West Newbury, MA, passed peacefully on Sunday morning, April 26, 2026, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael P. Carroll, who passed on May 27, 2019.

Born in Malden, MA on March 5, 1952, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Blanchard) Alexander and was a graduate of Malden High School. She went on to get her associate's degree through Northern Essex Community College in American Sign Language and was proud to become an interpreter and program administrator for the Gallaudet University Regional Center-East, within NECC.

Sherrie volunteered at the West Newbury Council on Aging, the G.A.R Memorial Library, AgeSpan, and Pets and People Foundation, delivering meals to seniors, reading with children, and providing pet-assisted therapy visits with her therapy dog, Lulu.

She is survived by two sons, Michael A. Carroll and wife Hayley Thompson-King of Providence, RI and Bryan P. Carroll, wife Diana (Marcela) and granddaughter Holland of Wiscasset, Maine; a brother, John Alexander and wife Brenda of FL; a sister, Betty DeStefano and husband Paul of North Reading, MA; a grandchild, Holland Carroll of Wiscasset, Maine, along with numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, David Alexander.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 166 High Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. A private burial will take place later at the Forest Dale Cemetery where Sherrie will be eternally reunited with her loving husband, Michael. In memory of Sherrie, she would be truly honored by any donations to the Pets and People Foundation.
