Newburyport - Sandra "Sandy" Sadowski passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, after a life defined by kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

For more than 40 years, anyone who walked through the doors of Port Sheet Metal in Newburyport was likely to be greeted by Sandy. She believed people came before business — before taking an order, she'd ask about your family and what was new in your life. It wasn't long before customers became friends.

Born in 1943 to Francis and Ruth Bailey of Amesbury, Massachusetts, Sandy was one of five children. In 1963 she met and married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Sadowski, and together they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and family, raising four children in Amesbury. Long before joining Bob as co-proprietor of Port Sheet Metal, Sandy worked as a nursing home aide, where she cared for others with the same compassion, kindness, and generosity that embodied every chapter of her life.

Away from work, she found her peace on Plum Island, where she loved staying active, biking and running, soaking in the sunshine and ocean breeze, but was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved — especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a constant source of pride and joy.

She is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Robert "Bob" Sadowski, her children, Wendy Buda and her husband David, Shari Stram and her husband Eric, Bryan Sadowski and his wife and Carolina, Jarred Sadowski and his wife Nadiia ; her eight grandchildren, Heather, Emily, Isaac, Rebecca, Margaret, Teo, Nina, and Alexandra "Lexi"; two great-grandchildren, Trevor and Henry; her brother David Bailey and sister Bonnie Harrington; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Richard and Bernard Bailey.

Family and friends may call on Friday July 31, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Services and burial will be private.
