Haverhill - Ronald Joseph Poirier, 82, of Haverhill passed away January 14, 2023 at his residence.
He was born in Lawrence on November 1, 1940, son of the late Oscar and Irene (Goulet) Poirier.
He graduated from Lawrence High School and University of Lowell. For over 30 years, Ron was a Lawrence Police Officer retiring as Captain.
Ron was a lifelong member of the Lawrence Elks Club and was also a member of the North End Boat Club in Newburyport.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Frances J. (Landers) Poirier; sons Ronald J. Poirier, Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Newburyport, MA and Craig F. Poirier of West Newbury, MA; granddaughter, Veronica Poirier of Groveland, MA.
At the family's request, services will be private. Arrangements are by H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford.
