Amesbury - Ronald Raymond Perron-also fondly known as "Hunka", age-71, passed away May 26, 2024 at the Baker-Katz Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Haverhill, MA.

He was born February 25, 1953 in Newburyport, MA, son of the late Alcide Francis Perron and Mildred Genevieve (Abrahams) Perron.

Hunka grew up on Purchase St. in Newburyport, MA and was one of eight children in his family. At the age of 12, he gave a ride to Dianne Pelletier on his bicycle and the rest is history. They were aged 17 and 18 when they got married on November 14, 1970 and had three children together. They raised their young family in Newburyport, MA and then moved to Amesbury, MA around 1995. Hunka was a longtime machine operator for Gould Shawmut in Newburyport which became Mersen. When Hunka was a boy, he was so proud to have won this Home Run Derby competition that was held in Cashman Park. As an adult his enthusiasm for sports continued and his favorite sports to watch were Nascar and football. He could often be found as a young adult hanging out at Jake's Café socializing. Hunka was a devoted husband, great father, and a loving grandfather. He liked spending time up in Maine with his brother, Bill, who was also his best friend. In his later years, he liked drinking coffee and bird watching at his son's home.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Theresa, Judy and two young brothers both named Alcide.

Hunka is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dianne Perron, son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Idalia Perron, daughter and son-in-law, Angela Keene-Perron and the late Chris Keene, son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Krisztina Perron, 6 grandchildren, Zachary Keene-Perron and wife, Rachael, Anton Keene-Perron and wife, Taylor, Raymond Perron and his companion, Amber, Ramsess Perron, Zsofia Perron and Matthew Perron, one great-grandson, Damien Keene Perron, siblings, Effie, Debbie and Bill and his longtime companion Susan Eaton Downs, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a coffee social celebrating his life on Saturday, June 29, 2024 starting at 10 a.m. at 29 Lois St., Rochester, NH.

Burial at a later date will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Newburyport, MA.
