Merrimac, MA - Ronald H. "Ron" St. Jean, age 83, longtime Merrimac resident, passed quietly at the Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Wednesday evening, October 2, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Newburyport, March 24, 1936, Ron was the son of the late Joseph I. and Gertrude (Brown) St. Jean and was a graduate of Amesbury High School.

After serving with the United States Air Force after the Korean War, Ron started his own business, R & S Garage Doors in Derry, N.H., serving the greater southern New Hampshire and Essex County areas with installation and service of garage doors. His dedication and excellent customer service made his business the leader in sales and service throughout the area.

Ron was a lifetime musician, songwriter, and piano player, receiving quite a following in the local venues where he performed, and it goes without saying that he was the best entertainer for all family gatherings, made more memorable by his ever so special musical talents. His reward was seeing the joy his music brought them.

Those left behind to treasure the many wonderful memories of his life include his former wife, Carlene M. (Frame) Weeks St. Jean of Merrimac; his children, Tina (St. Jean) Garvey and husband Mark, Ronald H. St. Jean Jr., Mark K. St. Jean and Adam St. Jean; his very special grandchildren, Tyler, Jared, Chelsea and Brandy; his great-grandson, Korbyn Garvey; his brothers, Joseph St. Jean and wife Paula and Robert St. Jean and wife Patricia; his half-brothers and half-sisters; along with several generations of nieces and nephews; a very special person in his life, Cliff Wallace; as well as his step-children; Jodi Weeks and her two children, Francesca "Frankie" Weeks and Layla Weeks.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2019, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury. Burial at a later date will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider making donations in his memory to the Greenleaf Program at the Amesbury Senior Center, 68 Elm Street, Amesbury, MA 01913.

Thanks for the memories and our children. And the friendship we kept. May you rest in peace and the south side of the sky is where you need to be. We'll hear that keyboard when you play for all up there....RIP
