Robert Evans Webster Obituary

Tyngsboro - Robert E. Webster, 90, of Tyngsboro, MA and Carefree, AZ passed away on August 31, 2023 while traveling in France with his partner, Karen Donahue.

Born on November 11, 1932 to Warren and Abbie Webster in Exeter, NH, he attended Sanborn Seminary, graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Civil Engineering, and honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Bob's professional career grew in the construction and real estate industries by displaying a strong belief that, with the support of a committed team of dedicated and qualified employees, subcontractors, and community leaders, positive change could be made. As the founder of Channel Building Company and Bayfield Development, he brought positive development to the Merrimack Valley area, including redevelopment to the Andover and Newburyport areas, and improved industrial and commercial landscapes throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He served actively with the Andover Chamber of Commerce, Andover Bank, Greater Lawrence Rotary Club, the New Hampshire State Grange, while supporting many other meaningful organizations.

In the construction industry, he served as President of the Associated Builders and Contractors Association, President of the Metal Builder Dealers Association, and was a long-term member of the Butler Building Advisory Council along with his son and grandson.

Bob's active lifestyle eventually led to his passionate love of golf. It provided him with joy, competition, world travel, and treasured time with family and friends. He loved his memberships and friends at various clubs including Haverhill, North Andover, Ipswich, Desert Forest, Desert Mountain, Mirabel, Desert Highlands, and Vesper.

Bob is survived by his five children, Lynne Trombly (Rick) of Andover, MA, Steven Webster (Robin) of Wolfeboro, NH, Jane Wenzel (Bill) of Merrimack, NH, Judy Reilly (Geff) of Boston, MA, Ann DiFrancesco (William) of Portsmouth, NH, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and the extended Naramore, Benidt, and Donahue families. He is predeceased by his wives, Sally Webster Dion, Dorothy Naramore Webster, and Beatrice Benidt Webster.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ipswich Country Club, 148 Country Club Way, Ipswich, MA 01938 at 12 p.m. on Sunday, October 1st, 2023. For more information visit, www.brewittfuneralhome.com
