Robert W. Morse, age 99 years, husband of Claire G. (Jodoin) Morse, died on Thursday December 8, 2016, at the Ledgewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Beverly. Born in Beverly, he was son of the late Clarence J. and Katherine (Burns) Morse.

Mr. Morse attended Beverly High School and graduated from St. John’s Preparatory School, Bentley University, Suffolk University and Suffolk Law School.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army having served in France, Rhineland, and parts of Western Europe. Prior to his passing, Mr. Morse was the oldest surviving veteran in the City of Beverly.

Mr. Morse worked as an Attorney for many years in the Northshore and Boston areas. He also worked and retired from A.C. Lawrence Leather Company and the Department of Defense

He loved to golf, dance, travel, and enjoyed cruises. Robert had a great love for animals, especially his dogs.

Surviving him are two daughters, Kathleen Nary and her husband, Michael of Newbury, and Norma Morse and her husband, Nick Mir of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
