Robert G. McCormack Obituary

Groveland - Robert "Bob" McCormack of Groveland passed away unexpectedly due to complications from a car accident. He died peacefully on August 6, 2021, at the age of 69. He was the loving husband of Helen (Merrithew).

Bob was known for his kindness, patience, and his subtle, yet quick wit and sense of humor. And most notably, he was incredibly devoted to his family. He was also a sports enthusiast. He loved playing pick-up basketball among other sports at Stocker playground as a kid and enjoyed playing softball with his brothers and friends in early adulthood. When he had children, he channeled his passion for sports through coaching their basketball and baseball teams, and he cheered them on at every sporting event throughout their athletic careers. He cherished his time vacationing in Maine and St. Pete Beach. Once retired from computer programming, he spent much of his time watching his grandchildren grow, taking long walks with his twin brother, Ricky, enjoying delicious home cooked meals, and napping in the afternoons. He truly understood the importance of family and life's simple pleasures.

Bob was the dedicated father of Gary Dean and his wife, Katie, of Merrimac, Casey McCormack of Groveland, and Heather (McCormack) Tatar and her husband, Dan, of Boston. He was the doting "Papa" of Joshua, Olivia, and Jackson. He was the son of the late Henry and Catherine (Boudette) McCormack, and he was the caring brother of Richard and his wife, Robin, of Hudson, NH; Betty Smith and her husband, Tom, of Rowley; Steven and his wife, Becky, of Derry, NH; Patty and her late wife, Barbara Rush, of Saugus; David and his wife, Lynn, of Wakefield; Katey of Saugus. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Nancy Butt, and her husband, Gary, of Andover; Janice Merrithew and her late husband, William, of Saugus. He was the kind uncle of many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
