Newmarket - Robert R. LaPointe, 66, of Newmarket NH, passed away at Mass General Hospital in Boston, Mass. on January 2, 2021.

He was born in Amesbury, Mass. on June 30, 1954, the son of the late Robert F. and Gabrielle C. (Dionne) LaPointe. Robert started his schooling at Sacred Heart in Amesbury where he spoke French with the nun's until they taught him to speak English. He was a member of the CYO where he played basketball and was proud to bring in the win against the Methodist Church; he was also a member of Boy Scout Troop 7. Robert continued his education and he retired as a Quality Control Inspector. He worked at Henshels, Brazonics, Collins Aerospace, B.A.E. Systems and Heidelberg. He loved music and was always going to concerts as a young man and one of his first jobs was at EPI. He also supported up-and-coming artists by going to local business throughout his life. Robert never had any children, and had been divorced for over 20 years. He is survived by his sister, Linda Smith (late Donald Smith) and their daughter Danielle Smith; his sister, Joceline and her husband, Wayne Yell; his sister, Claire and Roland Abrahams; their son, Tim LaPointe and his wife Amy; and their little one on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Roger LaPointe and his wife, Natalie, and their children, David and Gabrielle.
