He is survived by his wife, Ramona (Drouin) Foley, who was the love of his life and on June 28, 2015, they shared their 56th wedding anniversary. He also leaves three sons and their wives and children, Robert A. Foley, Jr., and Bonnie, and their children, Jessica (Foley) Morse and Michael and Stephanie and Donald Van Amburgh; Shawn Foley and Debby, and their daughter, Micheala; and William Foley and Patty, and their children, Alexis and Noah; his brother, William M. Bob graduated from Jackman School in 1946 and Newburyport High School in 1951. He enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956. After his military service, he worked for 39 years at Gould-Shawmut in Newburyport.
During the 1960s and 1970s, Bob was one of the best “striped bass” fisherman on the Merrimack River. He also enjoyed many years of Tai Chai. A very kind and gentle person, he will be greatly missed.
We would especially like to thank George "Buddy" Jackman and everyone who prayed for us, along with the great doctors who cared for Bob over many years, Angel at Home Health Care, and the staff at Country Center for Health. We will forever be grateful to everyone on the 3rd floor ABU unit at Holy Family Merrimack Valley Hospital who gave Bob excellent care in the last weeks of his life.
