Auburn - Auburn - Richard "Dickie-Do" DiBlasio 83, passed away on June 27th at the Andwell Hospice House in Auburn Maine, with his daughter Dianne, her cousin Brianne and her husband Manny and Richard's sister Mary and her husband Jim by his side.

Dickie was born in Providence Rhode Island and graduated from Melrose High School, where he was an avid football player. As a young man, Dickie decided to make fishing and the Atlantic Ocean his life. He grew up on the Merrimac River at Hilton's Fishing dock, where he was the captain of several boats, including the Capt. Red, which he later purchased. He went on to also work for George's Fishing dock as the captain of the Captains Lady on Plumb Island for many years. After running several Party boats, he decided to build his own 42-foot OEM vessel from Sears Port Maine. After building her, he would fish the change of seasons. From Gillnetting to scalloping, shrimping, and tuna fishing. After retiring, Dickie moved to Maine to be with his daughter Dianne, where he grew to love his two cats.

Dickie is survived by his daughter Dianne and her husband David; two sisters, Mary and her husband Jim, and Nancy; a brother, Jimmy and his wife Jean; and sister-in-law Donna. Nieces and nephews Brianne and Dylan, Henry and Felicia, Jimmy and John, Sarah and Tracy, Allison, Patrick, and Nichols. He is now at rest with his brother Paul and sister Stephanie.

A private ceremony with his family will be in August and his final resting area will be the ocean, where he spent countless hours of enjoyment. May he rest easy with fair-winds and calm seas.

They that go down to the sea in ships and occupy their business in the great waters; These men see the works of the Lord and his wonders of the deep. For at his word the stormy wind ariseth which lifteth up the waves therof. They are carried up to the heaven, and down again to the deep; their soul melteth away because of the trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man and are at their witts end. So, when they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, he delivereth them out of their distress. For He maketh the storm to cease so that the waves therof are still. Then they are glad, because they are at rest and so he bringeth them unto the haven where they would be.
