Newburyport - Reid A. Hoover, Jr. of Newburyport, MA, died on March 9, 2026 in Florida.

He was born in Newton, Mass. to Irene Hoover and the late Reid Hoover Sr. Reid grew up in Newburyport, a city that he loved. Reid graduated from the Winchendon School and attended Northern Essex Community College, Guttenberg College in Washington and completed his degree at University of Kings College in Nova Scotia, Canada. Reid had a love of learning and was working towards his goal of Masters in Theology at the International Theology Institute in Trumau, Austria. Reid is remembered for his kindness and spiritual calling, passion for Politics, and love of all animals.

Reid was preceded in death by his father Reid Hoover Sr, his grandparents, William and Mary Horrigan of Newton, and C. Jackson Hoover Sr. and Joan Hoover of Duxbury and his uncles, William and Richard Horrigan. He is survived by Mary Ann Hill of Methuen and C. Jackson Hoover Jr. and Kelli Hoover of Marietta, Georgia in addition to several cousins.

A memorial service celebrating Reid's life will be held on March 23, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. Adelaide's Church, located at 708 Lowell St, Peabody, Massachusetts, followed by internment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newburyport, Mass. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Hoover's family with his arrangements.
