Topsfield - Topsfield - Raymond Howell, age 91, longtime resident of Topsfield, MA, died on October 21, 2025. He was the devoted husband of the late Irene (Phelan) Howell, who predeceased him in 2006. Ray was the son of the late William and Helen (Slater) Howell and was raised in Revere and Saugus. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. For most of his career, Ray was a truck driver and member of the Teamsters Union, Local 25. In retirement, Ray spent many years as a volunteer, including on the restoration of the WW2-era Navy destroyer USS Cassin Young at the Charlestown Navy Yard. He also volunteered at the local animal shelter and was a troop greeter at Pease Air Base. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his children and grandchildren play sports, reading about history and nature, walking in the woods with his dogs, and fulfilling a lifelong dream of going on a trail drive out West. Ray was a hard worker, liked a good baseball game and a good laugh, and was always ready for a road trip.

He is survived by his children, Raymond Howell and his wife Maria, Daniel Howell and his wife, Paula, and Dean Pevey and his wife, Regina; his grandchildren, Isabel, Dean, Sam, Ryan and Ava; his sister, Florence Brady and brother-in-law Robert Johnson; and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Ellen Johnson, brother, William Howell and his wife, Mary, and brother-in-law, Thomas Brady.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary Parish, 202 Main Street, Rowley, with burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, 8 Haverhill Rd, Topsfield.
