Amesbury - Pierre Albert Provost, 91, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on November 12, 2025.

Born on January 16, 1934, in Amesbury, Pierre was the son of Aurore (Villeneuve) and Gerard L. Provost. A lifelong resident of Amesbury, he was deeply rooted in his community and proud of his hometown.

Pierre honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. After his service, he graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in electrical engineering. His career took him to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where he worked as an electrician on nuclear submarines until his retirement in 1995. He also worked at the Amesbury Hardware Company, once owned by his father, and later joined the Stop & Shop family in Amesbury, where he enjoyed working for 18 years.

In 1960, Pierre married the love of his life, Julie (Goodwin), and together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. He lived a full and joyful life, finding great satisfaction in small engine repair, woodworking, and—most of all—spending time with his family.

Pierre was predeceased by his parents, Aurore and Gerard, and his stepmother, Monique (Boulet) Provost. He is survived by his devoted wife, Julie; their children, Denise Ellen, Pierre and his wife Alison, Nancy and her husband Tom Marshall, Michael, and Matthew and his wife Lori; his sisters, Suzanne (Provost) and her husband David Touhey, and Helen (Provost) and her husband Dennis Nadeau. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Pierre will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the quiet strength with which he cared for those he loved.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Andre de Bessette Church 2 School Street, Amesbury, MA.
