Newburyport, MA - Norman M. Fiske, 84, native and lifelong resident of Newburyport, passed away, surrounded by family, on Sept. 23, 2018, at his home. He was born on March 3, 1934, son of the late Milton and Myrtle (Bradbury) Fiske.

Norman grew up and attended school in Newburyport, and proudly served four years in the Navy and continued his service in the National Guard during the 1970s. He worked as a painter for Amesbury Specialty before becoming a machine operator at Towle Silversmiths where he worked for many years. Norman enjoyed tinkering and doing word searches. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and in his later years he enjoyed getting out in the car on a daily basis for a ride. Norman was a 63-year, life member, of the Neptune #8 Veteran Fireman Assoc. in Newburyport; he was also a member of St. John’s Masonic Lodge.

Predeceased by his son, Herman F. Lane; and two granddaughters, Heather Heywood and Sarah (Audet) Dul; he is survived by his wife, Evelyn (True) Fiske of Newburyport; his daughters, Sheila Audet and husband John of Haverhill, Mass., Rita Heywood and husband Joseph of Salisbury, Mass., Dawn Brockelbank and husband Edward of Newburyport and Elora Fowler and husband Walter also of Newburyport; his grandchildren, April, Gayle, Paige, Katie, John, Joey, Elora, and Brad; and several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Hope Community Church, 11 Hale St., in Newburyport. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the church. Burial with military honors will be at Long Hill Cemetery in Salisbury, Mass.
