Hampton Falls - Hampton Falls - Newell (Sonny) M. Eaton Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025. He was 94 years of age. Born in Newburyport, on June 21st, 1930, Newell graduated from Newburyport High School in 1950. He then courageously served his country in the Navy from 1951-1955. A Korean War Veteran was a Member of DESA-Destroyer Escort Sailor Association. Newell was a lifelong Master Carpenter, Working for Manson Boat Works, Salisbury, MA and EPI speaker company, Newburyport, MA. In January 1975 he became self-employed and ran his own carpentry business. He served as Building Inspector in Hampton Falls, NH 1977 - 1989. He served as Building Inspector in North Hampton, NH 1992-1995. He served as Former Commander of Hampton, NH VFW 5239. He wasa faithful member of Emerson Hovey VFW Portsmouth NH. He served as Former Commander of Kensington American Legion. Former Chairman of Hampton Falls, NH school board. Thirty-year member of the Hampton Falls, NH Volunteer Fire Department.

In 2024 at the age of 93 Newell was honored by the Town of Hampton Falls with the Boston Post Cane.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Lorraine (Cormier) Eaton and a brother Charles Eaton his children. Laurie Cushing husband William Cushing Jr Lynn, MA, Raelene Sawyer husband John Sawyer Kensington, NH, Newell (Larry) Eaton, Hampton Falls, NH, Eva Eaton husband Lee Brooks, North Hampton, NH, Christopher Cushing wife Pattie Cushing, Jessica Cicerano husband Shawn Cicerano, Kelsie Sawyer and her partner. Matthew Sawyer, Great Grand Children, Ashley, Tyler, Paige and Ellie. Per Newell's request there will not be any services.

Predeceased by his parents Newell Eaton and Anna (Cullen) Eaton, sisters Mary Colby, Genevieve Corley and Eva Dichard
