Newburyport - Michael A. Valeriani, III, age 55, of Newburyport, MA, passed unexpectedly at his home on Saturday morning, May 16, 2026.


Born in Beverly, MA on June 17, 1970, he was the son of Elizabeth (Welch) Valeriani and the late Michael A. Valeriani, Jr. He was a graduate of Woburn High School, then went on to continue his education, earning his degree at Landmark College.


Michael was a passionate New England sports fan, dedicated to tracking sports statistics and collecting sports and science fiction memorabilia. He was an avid photographer and a devoted reader. Michael also happily volunteered his time to the Emma L. Andrews Library and Community Center in Newburyport.


He leaves behind many fond memories for his beloved family, his mother, Elizabeth; his brother, Mark Valeriani and wife Kellie of Guimarães, Portugal; his nephew, Daniel Valeriani; two aunts, Marie Carlile and husband Greg of Upton, MA and Nancy Scanzani and husband Frank of Ipswich, MA.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael A. Valeriani, III, can be made to Emma L. Andrews Library, 77 Purchase Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.
