Salisbury - Mary B. St. Laurent, 96, of Elm Street, Salisbury and formerly of Georgetown, died peacefully Thursday, July 28, 2022 in her son's home following her month long illness resulting from her second stroke in two years. She was the wife of the late Charles E. St. Laurent of Ipswich who died in October of 2015 and the late Wilfred L. Carpenter of Salem ,NH who died in Sept of 1988.

Mary was born in Lawrence on March 30, 1926, one of the five children of the late Natale and Santa (Leonardi) Torrisi. She was raised in Lawrence where she was educated in public schools. For more than forty year she was employed as a 'stitcher' at Greico Brothers of Lawrence. In retirement she enjoyed her time doing jigsaw puzzles with her husband Charlie and spending time crocheting afghans for her family and friends.

Mary was a longtime communicant of St. Mary Church in Georgetown.

She is survived by her son, Wilfred N. Carpenter and his fiance' Karen M. Champoux of Salisbury; her stepson, Michael J. St. Laurent of Danvers; two step-daughters, Susan E. Hardy of Rockport Dianna M. Gibson of Methuen; three grandchildren, Justin A. Carpenter of Salem, NH, Laura M. and Nicole R. Carpenter of Methuen and three great-grandchildren, Kenna and Caitlyn Carpenter and Isla Worthen .

A visitation and funeral for family and friends will be held Monday, August 1 at 10 am at the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by a celebration of life Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of Hope Church, 1 Pineswamp Road, Ipswich. Interment will be held in the Highland Cemetery, Ipswich at a later date.
