York, Maine - Marion "Joy" (McWhirter) Noyes, 83, of 515 Cider Hill Road, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at home with her family by her side.

She was born January 13, 1935, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Henry J. C. and Margaret (Brewster) McWhirter. She grew up in Belmont, Mass., and graduated from Belmont High School and Newton Wellesley Hospital, School of Nursing.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Alton W. Noyes; sons, Stephen Noyes and his wife Jacqueline of North Attleboro, Mass., William Noyes of Georgetown, Mass., and David Noyes and his wife Anne of Poughquag, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Gary, Maggi, Emma, Henry, Elliot, and Adelaide.

Joy was a loving and devoted wife and mother, an adoring grandmother, a friend to many with her easy smile and sense of humor, and a devoted Boston sports fan. She was also a savior to many rescue dogs over the years.
