Newburyport, MA - Marilyn P. Quigley passed away peacefully, smiling and holding her son's hand on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.
She was born in Boston on April 26, 1948, the daughter of Roderick and Dorothy (Carroll) Marchessault. She had seven brothers, and graduated from Everett High School in 1966. On June 29, 1968, she married Thomas W. Quigley and they were married for 51 years. They had two children who they raised first in Everett, Mass., and then later in Amesbury, Mass. She and her husband retired to Haverhill, Mass., in 2011, where they'd spend the rest of their lives happily together as Grandma and Grandpa.
Marilyn was a strong, honest, devoted woman who loved her family above all else. In their retirement years, Marilyn and Thomas loved to play golf together, visit the ocean and take road trips with no planned destination (which would usually end up somewhere with either dark chocolate or lemon donuts). She loved napping to the sound of rain, and would never say "goodbye" to anyone-it was always "see you." She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and was a best friend to her sons.

She will be buried with her husband Thomas at Mount Prospect Cemetery in Amesbury in a plot where you can see the house she raised her family in through the trees. She is survived by her two sons, Thomas S. Quigley and his wife, Julie Quigley of Seabrook N.H., Christopher J. Quigley and wife Melissa St. Peter of Nashua, N.H.; as well as the joy of her life, her grandson Liam. Never goodbye, always "see you"-we will all see you again someday.

There will be a private family service held. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society.
