Amesbury - Amesbury - Louis Kaye, 81, of Amesbury, MA, passed away May 1, 2025, after a long illness.

Born July 3, 1943, in Bridgeport, CT, to Louis Sr. and Yoly (Tassinari) Kaye, he served as a U.S. Navy musician during the Vietnam Era, playing trumpet on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) during Operation Sea Orbit and at the South Station Naval Annex in Boston, MA.

A devoted member of the Baha'i faith, Louis lived in Botswana in the 1970s and '80s working in logistics, community services, and rural economic development before founding Hydrocon to improve water conservation in semi-arid agricultural settings.

Returning to the U.S. in the early'90s, Louis eventually opened Inn Street Realty in Cambridge, MA, and later gave historical tours, including for Boston Duck Tours, until 2021. In retirement, he loved trail and beach walks, dear friends, and Baha'i gatherings.

He is survived by loving wife Nannci Willson, son Matthew, sister Nancy, children from his first marriage, Ian (and wife Katalin), Melanie, and Jeffrey, and six grandchildren.

A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at Bartlett Cemetery, located behind the Macy-Colby House at 257 Main St., Amesbury, MA. Arrangements were by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913.
