Louis James Andriotakis Obituary

Newburyport - Louis James Andriotakis, age 89, a life-long resident of Newburyport, passed away peacefully at home on Friday morning, January 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. A dedicated pillar of the community, humble yet well respected owner of Daniel L. Lynch Pharmacy for over 60 years, Louis will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born at Anna Jaques Hospital on August 18, 1936, he was the 7th of 8 children, born to the late James T. and Stella (Ladas) Andriotakis. At the young age of 14, Louis started working for Mr. Daniel Lynch, leading him to his passion of caring for others, which he did up until the day he died. Louis was a 1954 graduate of Newburyport High School and earned his pharmacy degree from New England College of Pharmacy. His passion for being an entrepreneur was realized when the opportunity to purchase Daniel L. Lynch Pharmacy came about, which was a significant milestone in his life. Louis proudly served the city of Newburyport and neighboring communities, along with his loving wife Stella, offering not just medications, but a friendly smile, sage advice and often a dose of humor to generations of customers.

Beyond his professional life, Louis was a longtime Rotarian in Newburyport, a corporator of the Institution for Savings, and a member of St. John's Lodge, A.F. & A.M. In addition, Louis was a proud member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where he served on the church council. He was a quiet man who demonstrated through his actions an unconditional commitment to his faith in our lord.

Louis was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was predeceased by his siblings: John, Theodore, and Charlie Andriotakis, Catherine Hamilton, Mary Scribner, Patricia Peabody, and Evelyn Amato.

In addition to his beloved wife and best friend, Stella (Demetroulis) Andriotakis, he is survived by his daughter, Maria (Andriotakis) Connor and husband, Kevin of Newburyport, and his son James Andriotakis and his wife Lisa of Boxford. Louis is also survived by his greatest pride and joy, his 6 grandchildren: Elias, Christopher and Demetri Connor and Nicholas, Gregory and Sara Andriotakis. Louis also leaves behind several dear nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends throughout his life.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Above all, Louis was a true gentleman, who left an enduring mark on his family and the city of Newburyport.
