Larry J. Boothroyd Obituary

Newburyport - Larry J. Boothroyd, 78, a resident of Newburyport died Tuesday morning March 4, 2025 at Tewksbury State Hospital in Tewksbury. He was born in Newburyport on January 16, 1947 to the late Harold F. Boothroyd, II and Mary (Perkins) Boothroyd, and was educated in Newburyport.

He was employed for many years as a Driver for Boutin Bus Lines as well as a food deliver driver until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots, and if he could do that while enjoying a plate of fried clams at the Park Lunch he was a happy man.

His family would like to thank the Staff at Tewksbury State Hospital for the tremendous care and compassion given to Larry during his time with them. They will be forever grateful.

Larry is survived by his brothers, John "Jack" Boothroyd, and Harold Boothroyd, III; sister in law, Kathy Boothroyd; niece and nephews, Dennis, Shawn, and Jennifer Boothroyd; cousins, Steve Perkins and Katie Perkins-Sloan; as well as his good friend John Gregor. He was predeceased by his brothers Henry and Doug Boothroyd.

Family and friends are invited to Larry's Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Wednesday March 19, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be private at a later date. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Boothroyd's family with his arrangements.
