Newburyport - Newburyport - Kenneth Groder, Jr., 94, of Newburyport, MA, passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2025. Born in Dover-Foxcroft, ME, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and worked over 30 years as an automotive manager at Sears. In retirement, he earned his Coast Guard captain's license, became a Master Maine Guide, and taught at Eagle Lodge Guide School.
He was predeceased by his wife, Fay A. Groder, and siblings Capt. Robert (Arlene), Mary-Lou (Bill Brown), Patricia (Fred Sparks), Cmdr. Richard (Marion), Hilda (Dale Hazelton), and Constance. He is survived by his brother William (Kathy) Groder.
Kenneth leaves six children: Kenneth III (Cindy), Kurt (Deborah), Katherine (Philip Burno), Kevin (Tamera), Kelby (Cecile), and Kristin; 15 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.
