Salisbury, MA - Kathryn Ann (Souther) Gallant, 55, of Salisbury, born September 16, 1963, passed away on September 10, 2019 after a brief illness. She was beloved daughter to her parents Sandra (Tremblay) Souther of Newburyport, and the late George O. Souther Jr. of Newburyport. Kathy leaves her husband and best friend of 41 years, Joseph Gallant, and their two sons Christopher Gallant of Seabrook, NH and his partner, Cassandra Trombley, and Shawn Gallant of Salisbury, and his partner, Nicole Richard. Her biggest joy was being a Nannie to her grandchildren, Adrienne, Cambria, Lincoln, Hannah and Izzabella.

She also leaves behind her siblings, Lena (Souther) Murray of Gardner MA, Daniel M. Souther of Gardner MA, James Souther and his wife Lea (Morlock) Souther of Raymond NH, MaryJo (Souther) Benosky and her husband Stanley of South Hampton NH, and Damon Souther of West Bridgewater MA. Other family include her mother in law, Barbara Ladd of Epping NH, and in laws David Gallant and his wife Kim Gallant of Danville NH, Donald Gallant and his wife Casey Gallant of Fairfield ME, and Thomas Gallant and his wife Lisa Gallant of Moncton, New Brunswick. She was the great niece of the late Lena G. Tremblay.

Kathy worked in Human Services for over 30 years. She graduated from Newburyport High School in 1981, and went on to graduate from Northern Essex Community College with a degree in Liberal Arts in 1986. She enjoyed gardening, watching the Red Sox, line dancing, doing crafts, traveling (especially to Disney World), shopping, going to Foxwoods, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. Kathy was known for her love of Mickey Mouse and had accumulated quite the collection over the years. She will be remembered for her fun and loving spirit, generosity and unselfishness. People often describe her as one of the most wonderful and caring people they had ever met. She will also be terribly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and dear friends all whose hearts she had touched deeply.

A Celebration of Kathy's life will be held on Friday, October 11 5PM-10PM at the Elk's Lodge - 25 Low St, Newburyport, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in their time of need.

Arrangements are by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
