Gilbert - Gilbert - Julia Eileen (Joyce, Gibbs) Bashaw, known to all as Juleen, 87 of Gilbert, AZ, died on June 1, 2025 after a brief illness.

Juleen was born on July 2, 1938 to Virginia (Thomas) and Thomas Joyce in Boston, MA. She later grew up on Wild Shamrock Pony Farm in Byfield, MA.

Juleen attended Newburyport High School. In her later years she received her BA and her MA in Biblical Counseling from Trinity College of the Bible, AZ.

She was previously married to Harland Gibbs and they had three children, Joyce Valerie Gibbs, H. Jim Gibbs, and Jon Marshall (Gibbs).

She married Charles Bashaw in 1988 who had seven children and numerous grandchildren. She, along with Charles, raised and cared for one of Charles' grandchildren, Philip Bashaw. They moved to Safford, AZ in 1992.

Juleen was the Post Mistress of the S. Byfield Post Office, then a long-time Lifeguard, a Realtor, an EMT, a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), and in later years she directed and operated "We Care" of Safford AZ, helping countless families in her community.

She dearly loved her family, was an avid swimmer, and enjoyed reading, singing, advocacy, and her church.

Juleen is survived by her two sons, H. Jim Gibbs of Newbury, MA and Jon Marshall and his wife, Stefanie of Germany; grandchildren, Derek Gibbs of NH. She is also survived by Philip Bashaw and his wife Lauren of Gilbert, AZ and Victoria Tullercash of Tempe, AZ; great-grandchildren, Allison and Charles Bashaw of Gilbert AZ; her brother, Thomas Joyce and his wife, Susan of Boston, MA, and sister, Carol Joyce and her husband, Marty Vogt of Warwick, MA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles of Safford, AZ, daughter, Joyce Gibbs of Plaistow, NH, and sister Mary Joyce of Arizona.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport, MA on July 11, 2025, at 10 a.m., interment will follow at the Byfield Parish Cemetery on Elm St., Byfield. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport, MA 01950, is assisting Mrs. Bashaw's family with her arrangements.
