Newbury, MA - John S. Irving of Plum Island (Newbury), beloved husband of Paula Irving, passed away November 19 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. He leaves parents Joanne Irving of Danvers, and Robert Irving of Salisbury; sisters, Kristine Irving and fiancé Marcel Albanese of Gloucester, and Alyssa Irving and husband Chris Mrazek of Boston; as well as aunts, Judy Maselli and Carol Ruback. He also leaves his loved nephews; a niece; and many cousins and close friends.
John made friends easily and was lovingly called the “Mayor of Scituate” by his mom in his early childhood. This trait followed him throughout his life. The many close friends he made while growing up remained lifelong. He was also known and loved by many in Belgrade, Maine, his summer residence.
Wherever John went he made friends.
He attended St John’s Prep, graduated from North Andover High School, and Merrimack College. During his business career he was responsible for many successful ventures before becoming disabled by non-Hodgkins lymphoma. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, Boston. in John’s memory.
A memorial service is to be held Saturday, November 24, at Andover Country Club at 2 p.m. All friends are invited to attend.
