Salisbury, MA - Born in Danvers, September 13, 1941, John was the son of the late John J. and Jeannette B. (Potvin) Haggerty. He was a graduate of Newburyport High School and went on to attend Burdette College.

As a skilled machinist, John had a 40-year career at General Electric in Lynn, and was also proprietor of Mike's Package Store on Lafayatte Road in Salisbury from of 1970 to 1983.

He enjoyed his membership with the Elks Club, the Moose Club and the Salisbury Lions Club. It was the love of his family that was his greatest enjoyment of all.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, Jacqueline Haggerty of Salisbury; he leaves behind his daughter, Malisa Reith of Salisbury; his sister, Jean Whitney of Newburyport, along with extended family and dear friends. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Allan D. Reith; and his two sisters, Theresa Chapman and Jacqueline Pelletier.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, with prayer services at 10:30 a.m. during the visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Salisbury Council on Aging, 43 Lafayette Road, Salisbury, MA 01952.

As a kid Johnny & Jackie's place was a great place to go and stay! They were always good to me & I always felt welcome. You realize when you lose someone you liked you should of payed more attention to that forgotten friendship. Louie
