Hampton - Hampton - John Joseph Gaucher, 77, of Hampton passed away peacefully at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA, on Saturday, September 20, 2025. He was the loving husband of Joan Ann (Nalezinski) Gaucher.
Born in Amesbury, MA, on April 24, 1948, John was the son of the late Roland and Marie (Kelleher) Gaucher. Raised and educated in Amesbury, John attended Amesbury High School and graduated in 1966. From there he went on to college where he pursued his love for engineering. His career started at Western Electric as a draftsman then worked his way to becoming the Vice President of Acquisitions at A.W. Chesterton Co. until retirement.
Beyond his professional life, John was passionate about restoring antique vehicles, his favorite being a 1936 Ford 3 window coupe. He was a skilled handyman, willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family. As an avid reader, you could always find a book by his side. In his later years, John loved being with his grandchildren, who brought him much joy and laughter.
He married his wife Joan Nalezinski on September 27, 1975. They had two children, Sara and Eric, raising their family in Windham, NH. After retirement, he and Joan moved to the seacoast, enjoying their time at the beach.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, Sara Hoyt and her husband Timothy of Manchester, and Eric Gaucher and his wife Lindsay of Hampton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jack, Ella, and Lily. Also, his brother-in-law, Robert S. Nalezinski of Manchester, his nephew Joseph Nalezinski and his wife Rebecca of Manchester, nephew Robert Nalezinski, as well as numerous cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember John for a period of visitation on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 4-6PM in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11AM at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842. Graveside burial will be at a later date.
