John L. Crowley Obituary

Englewood - John L. Crowley, a devoted family man known for his wry sense of humor and love for the outdoors, passed away at his home in Englewood, FL on December 13, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born to Mildred and John Crowley, John grew up in Waltham, MA, and married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia. They built a life together in Massachusetts, where they raised seven daughters. After graduating from Northeastern University with a degree in electrical engineering, John worked as an engineer at various companies until retiring from Osram-Sylvania in 1995. Following retirement, John and Cynthia moved to New Hampshire to realize their dream of living on Lake Winnipesaukee. After Cynthia's passing, John began a new chapter in Florida, later sharing his time between Englewood and Cape Cod with his partner, Nancy Burns.

John had a deep love for the outdoors and an adventurous spirit. Whether hiking mountain trails, boating across Lake Winnipesaukee, building his next project, skiing down slopes, biking through scenic routes, fishing for his next catch, or swimming in the lake or ocean, he embraced every moment. Above all, he cherished time spent with his large extended family, creating memories that will last for generations.

He was predeceased by his wife, Cynthia, brother-in-law, Bob Delano, and granddaughter, Haley Allard. He is survived by his sister Eleanor Voutselas; in-laws, Marie Delano and Debbie and Danny Oliva; his partner Nancy Burns; his seven daughters and their families: Laurel and Jimmy Castille, Sheryl and Michael Altman, Sharon & Phil Allard, Cynthia Janvrin, Kathleen Crowley, Patricia and Jon Rosenfeld, and Carolyn Crowley; his grandchildren Christopher, Nathan, Melissa, Sarah, Jessica, Joshua, Samantha, Chloe, Atlas, and Ethan; his great-grandchildren Aloysius, Castille, Connor, Millie, and Stetson; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

Arrangements are being made with Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home of Newburyport, MA, with a service to be held at a later date in the Spring. Online expressions of sympathy can be made at https://www.tlcfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in his name to The Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance.
