Gloucester - Mrs. Jennie C. (Orszulak) Cwik, 99, of Gloucester, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 23, 2018, in Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a lengthy illness, with her loving sister Sally always at her side. She is the wife of the late Stephen J. Cwik.

Jennie was born November 9, 1918, in Newburyport. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie (Kusek) Orszulak. She was a resident of Gloucester for the past 24 years, and previously resided in Newburyport.

She worked as an Electronic Assembler for many years until her retirement. She previously worked as a Fancy Stitcher for Stride Rite Shoes.

She enjoyed drawing and sketching. She was well known throughout the Newburyport area; she was ahead of her time driving a car in the 1950s. She was a very independent person who enjoyed wallpapering, cooking, crocheting and doing crafts. Jenny was especially close with her niece Judy and her husband Brian.

Jennie is survived by her sister Sally S. Milne of Gloucester; her three nieces Judy St. Cyr and her husband Brian of Gloucester, Kathleen Hurd and her husband David of Gloucester, and Nancy Ruzanski-LaFranchise and her husband Jeffrey LaFranchise of Newburyport. She is also survived by her grand-nieces and grand-nephews Hannah and Ben St.Cyr, Kyle, Kevin, Kelly and Kory Hurd and Josef and Sofie LaFranchise.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jennie is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Alice and Stanley Ruzanski.

Jennie’s funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect St., Gloucester, on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. Her visitation will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester, on Thursday, prior to Mass beginning at 8 a.m. Interment will be in Cowles Cemetery, Ipswich.
