Jean A. Adams
Born and raised in Newburyport with her four siblings, Leo Gagnon, Donald, Carol and Barbara Wing, Jean was the daughter of late Teresa (Gagnon) and Donald Wing. Jean was the proud mother of the late Regina and Clifford T. Wing.
Jean had a long career working at Western Electric in North Andover, employed for over 30 years. This is where she and Joe fell in love and, soon after, became husband and wife. After retiring she and Joe would travel down to Florida to escape the chill of the New England Winters. In the summers they enjoyed the camping life in New Hampshire.
After Joe's death, Jean moved to Windsor, Maine, to be near her sister, Barbara. She had resided there for nearly 30 years.
Jean's family was her greatest joy. She adored her aunts and uncles and always enjoyed the company of her cousins. Jean delighted in the companionship of her siblings and her sisters-in law, Sandy Gagnon and Doris Wing, and her brother-in law Manzer Belanger. Jean also cherished her many nieces and nephews.
Jean was overjoyed when Clifford met Mary, and that they created a life that would span many decades. Soon enough Jean became the proud grandmother of Jennifer, Justin, Christina, and Joseph Wing. She was over the moon when her great-grandchildren arrived: Valentina, Juliana, Angelina, Kaycee, Noah, Willow and Virginia.
Jean was an avid reader and a lover of classic movies. She had a large collection of favorites for herself and her grandchildren. She loved animals and shared her home with many throughout the years. She treated other people's pets as her own, with kindness and compassion.
Jean is sadly predeceased by her parents, Teresa and Donald Wing; her husband, Nahum Joe Adams; her brother Leo Gagnon; and her children Regina and Clifford T. Wing.
Jean is survived by her siblings, Donald Wing and his wife Doris, Carol Conner, Barbara Belanger and her husband Manzer; and also her sister-in-law, Sandy Gagnon. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law Mary J. Wing; and her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Poore and her husband Kevin, Christina Angelosanto and her husband Frederick, Justin Wing, and Joseph Wing and his fiancée Haley Alix; and her cherished great-grandchildren Valentina, Juliana, and Angelina Angelosanto, Kaycee, Noah, and Willow Wing, and Virginia Poore.
Funeral services will be private at Jean's request. Burial will be held in the Belleville Cemetery in Newburyport, Mass. Brewitt Funeral Service, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gosnell Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Rd., Scarborough, ME 04074.
