Jason Athanas Obituary

PALM HARBOR - PALM HARBOR - Jason Athanas, 39, formerly of West Newbury, Massachusetts, passed away in his sleep on August 10, 2021. He is survived by his son, Nathan Pajak-Athanas; his brother, Andrew Athanas; his father Lewis Athanas; and Nathan's mother, Amy Pajak. His loving mother, Pamela Athanas, is recently deceased.

An expert musician from an early age, from piano to guitar, a voracious reader, a self-inspired student of movies and humor, his interests spanned decades and centuries; and a lover of the forests and beaches of his favorite state, Massachusetts.

He had recently moved to the Tampa area to work and raise his son Nathan, the greatest joy he has known.

Jason will be most remembered for his service to others, by the scores of people he had helped when they were in need, both during many years working in rehabilitation facilities and in various self-help groups.

Jason's heart was larger than few have seen, his love and patience for those close to him was boundless, something he had consciously and successfully worked on for years. Please join in our love and great memories of Jason.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 23, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Swampscott Cemetery, Swampscott, MA. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com.
