Amesbury - Jane S. (Houghton) Millette, age 87, longtime resident of Amesbury, MA, passed peacefully on Thursday morning, May 28, 2026, at Port Rehab and Healthcare Center in Newburyport, MA.

She was the devoted wife of 62 years to Robert F. Millette, who passed on January 30, 2022.

Born in Newburyport, MA on March 3, 1939, she was the only daughter of the late Charles N. Houghton and Lillian A. (Spencer) Houghton and was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1957.

Jane was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown. She worked at Amesbury High School in the cafeteria and was best known for running the snack bar. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Aleppo Shiner - HONS. She could often be found supporting her husband, Bob during his time as the Master of Warren Lodge Amesbury by preparing meals for Masonic dinners and special events. After retiring she enjoyed RV road trips with Bob and she was an avid reader. She was a longstanding member of St. James Episcopal Church in Amesbury.

Her life's legacy will be treasured forever by her daughters, Brenda Mende, Paula Millette and partner Gary, Diane Millette-Freve and husband James, Julie Lovering and husband David, Suzanne Acker and husband, John, Cleopatra Janelli, grandchildren, Robert Ouellette, Lea Szczerba, Mark Pender, Laura Pender and Ariana Plimpton, great-grandchildren, Daniel and Ren Szczerba, Hudson and Oliver Plimpton, Elio, Dario and Damiana Zarba and extended family and many dear friends from near and far.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 120 Main Street, Amesbury, MA followed by a Graveside Service at Union Cemetery - Amesbury, MA where Jane will be laid to eternal rest with her husband, Robert. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital Boston, MA in honor of Jane S. Millette.
