Amesbury, MA - Helen K. (Dunning) Morrison, age 76, passed away early Thursday morning, January 9, 2020, at Country Center for Health in Newburyport, with her family by her side.

Born in Newburyport, November 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Georgia "Dolly" Dunning. She was a graduate of Newburyport High School and lived most of her life in Newburyport.

Known by family and friends as "Kay," she worked for a short time as a customer service representative at Wal-Mart. Kay also worked as a waitress for 20 years at the Captains Quarters in Newburyport.

A loving wife, devoted mother, adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, caring sister and aunt, and dear friend to many, Kay's life revolved around her family and friends. Her quick-witted humor was unmatched and appreciated by all. She will be remembered as a Bruins enthusiast who knew more about hockey than most coaches and players. Kay showered everyone with gifts and made each person she met feel loved and accepted and was definitely a nana to every child that came across her path; the love she shared with them throughout her life will never be forgotten.

Kay is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard R. Morrison of Amesbury; her son, Richard Jr. and wife Mindy of Salisbury; her daughter, Cindy Morrison-Lattime; her grandchildren, Zoe, Zack, Kate and Logan; her two great-grandchildren, Carrick and Izzy; her sister, Judy McNatt, along with several generations of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Kay was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Adams, George Dunning, Samuel Dunning, and Peggy Daley.
Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., immediately followed by services at the funeral home at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Cam Neely Cancer Foundation at https://camneelyfoundation.org/donate in honor of Kay Morrison.

Kay and Dick were such welcoming loving neighbors. I will never forget Kay’s care, always had an ear to give, her great sense of humor, and the love she shared with so many. Rest in peace, you will be missed. Sending love and prayers for Dick and family.
