The Villages - The Villages - Guerwood "John" Lewis, Jr. born on March 13, 1950 to Marcella and Guerwood Lewis of Hull, Massachusetts, died peacefully on June 3rd in The Villages, Florida, after a multi-year battle with cancer. John was a graduate of Hull High School and received a Bachelors Degree in History and Education from Bridgewater State College, where he also met the love of his life, who predeceased him, Maureen (Frasca) Lewis. Together they leave behind one child, Lauren (Lewis) Berkman, Son-in-Law Edward Berkman, Jr., and beloved grandson, Theo Berkman, of Newburyport, and many dear friends and family. For many years, John was a proud educator for Harbor Schools and Chelsea Public Schools, Army Veteran, and active member of the Newburyport Elks Lodge 909.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Newburyport Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 909 Scholarship Fund.
