Amesbury - Gordon W. Sears, 80, lifetime resident of Amesbury, passed away peacefully in Exeter, NH on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
He was born February 12, 1944 in Amesbury, MA, the son of the late Albert and Pauline (Venette) Sears. Gordon graduated from Amesbury High School with the Class of 1962. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and proudly served 4 years. Returning home, he started his career working for Mass Electric, retiring in 2010.
Gordon enjoyed watching the Bruins, trips to casinos, penuche fudge, and family time spent at York Beach in Maine.
He shared 46 years of marriage with his late wife Janice (Kent) Sears who predeceased him in 2015.
Gordon leaves behind his three children; Michael Sears and his wife Paula of Exeter, NH, Alison Jackson and her husband Ken of Newburyport, MA, Jamie Marcial and her husband Jeremy of Norwich, CT; his seven grandchildren; Cody, Brooke and Kenz Jackson, Abigail Sears, Kendall, Callen and Greyson Akers.
Surviving siblings include Albert Sears and his wife Sheila of Dataw Island, SC and Gayle Bartley and her husband Paul also of Dataw Island.
