George O. Burdick Jr. Obituary
Amesbury - George O. Burdick Jr. (G.O.) born October 12th, 1944, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, March 30th, 2025.
He was born and raised in Amesbury and attended Amesbury Public Schools and graduated from Amesbury High School as a proud fighting Indian. He was an active member of the Amesbury Maples Hockey Team in the early 60's and a devoted member of the Market Street Baptist Church from his youth on. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and married his high school sweetheart Linda in 1964. After serving his country, G.O. returned to his hometown and started his career at Mass Electric where he worked for over 30 years as a Lineman and Foreman. G.O. and Linda built a wonderful life together while raising three amazing children. You could always find him coaching his children's many sports teams and if he wasn't coaching them, he was there cheering them on. Many people will remember him running or speed walking through the streets of Amesbury donning his favorite New York Giants gear. He loved a good family gathering especially if there was a bonfire and a cold Budweiser involved.
G.O. was predeceased by his parents, George and Frances Burdick. He leaves
behind his wife Linda of 59 years and three children: Son Brett and wife Erin, Son
Heath and wife Rebecca and daughter Brooke and husband Rob, as well as his sister Marcia and husband Roger Nelson. He is survived by nine grandchildren, Tyler, Hannaih, Seth, Sarah, Chloe, Hailee, George, Paisley and Emily, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
