Salisbury - Gary T. McLaughlin, a resident of Salisbury, MA, passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on October 24th, 2025.

He was born in Amesbury, MA, on June 6th 1953 to the late Edmund J. McLaughlin and Helen C. (Dzioba) McLaughlin.

Gary graduated from Amesbury High School in 1972 and later attended North Shore Community College. He worked at Whittier Tech in his early years, followed by Craigs Systems in Amesbury, and then the Amesbury School System, from where he retired.

He was an avid New England sports fan and especially enjoyed watching games with his wife Patty. His favorite team was the Boston Red Sox, and he always looked forward to the return of Spring. Gary loved the outdoors and had an impressive knowledge of trees, able to name nearly every kind he encountered. He was deeply grateful that Essex County Greenbelt preserved Whittier Hill in Amesbury, a place where he had spent cherished time in his youth. Gary was a kind hearted person throughout his life, with a deep love for children, nature, and animals. He held his English Bulldogs Bo, Maisy, and Squishy close to his heart after their passing, and it brings comfort to imagine him now taking peaceful walks with them once again.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, best friend, and soulmate of 35 years, Patty (Goodwin) McLaughlin; his siblings, Ann McLaughlin and Lee Mclaughlin; several brothers- and sisters in-law; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his French Bulldog,Daisy.
