Newburyport - Francis "Frank" Augustus Costello, 84 of Newburyport, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 30th at home. Born in Boston, he was the son to the late Augustus "Gus" F. Costello and Cynthia H. Costello (Burke).
While Frank is known, over the years, for his skills that range from insurance sales to painting and siding installation, he is best known by family and friends that loved him and truly knew him for his positive outlook on life, energetic presence and contagious smile. He was happiest with a beer in his hand surrounded by and celebrating life with family and friends. And if it was on or near the water with the sun shining and some tanning oil, even better. He lived his life unapologetically happy. No matter what life threw at him, he received it seeing the silver lining in everything.
Frank is survived by his niece Kelly (Costello) Miller and husband Gregory of Stuart, FL and their children Skyler and James; nephew Drew Costello and wife Karen of Salem and their child Devon; nephew Wayne Costello of Palm Beach, FL; sister-in-law Cynthia Costello of Stuart, FL; cousins Terry Marchand, Mary Janice Burke, Sue Burke, Richard Burke, Cynthia Perullo, Trisha Rennick, Alan Sanders and a plethora of other cousins throughout Lynn, Peabody, Saugus and Concord. A New England Irish family has too many to name on just one page. He loved you all.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother and best friend Peter J Costello; and nephew William Scott Costello.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 42 Green Street, Newburyport, on Thursday, January 8th at 9am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Celebration of Life for Frank will be at Wally's, 144 Ashworth Avenue, Hampton, NH, on Saturday, January 10th at 11am. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com
