Newburyport, MA - Evelyn L. Fiske, (better known by Loretta) 83, passed away on September 4, 2019, at the High Pointe House in Haverhill, Mass. after a period of declining health.

She was born February 5, 1936, in Salisbury, Mass., daughter of the late Franklin True, Sr. and Evelyn E. (Chauncy) True.

Loretta grew up in Salisbury and was one of eight children in the family. On November 22, 1957, she married Norman M. Fiske, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage until his passing on September 23, 2018. Loretta was an extremely hard worker her whole life, sometimes even holding down two jobs at one time. She was best known for babysitting either for family, friends, or by word of mouth to friends of friends. She was a homemaker and was a cook for 10 years at the Wheelwright House. Loretta lived most of her life in Newburyport.

Loretta's life revolved around her husband, children and generations of grandchildren. Her hobbies included playing Bingo and knitting.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Herman F. Lane and two granddaughters, Heather Heywood and Sarah (Audet) Dul, and her siblings, Sheila, Frankie, Billy and Willard.

She is survived by daughters, Sheila Audet and husband John of Haverhill, Rita Heywood and husband Joseph of Salisbury, Dawn Brockelbank and husband Edward of Newburyport and Elora Fowler and husband Walter also of Newburyport; her grandchildren, April, Gayle, Paige, Katie, John, Joey, Elora and Brad; and several great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, brothers, Bobby True, Henry True, sister, Tammy Greenwood, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation time with the family will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Hope Community Church, 11 Hale St., Newburyport, MA.

Funeral services will follow on Thursday, September 12 at 12 p.m. at the church.

Burial will follow in the Long Hill Cemetery, Salisbury, MA.
