Seabrook - Elizabeth A. "Bette" Thibodeau, 92, a Seabrook resident since 1963, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2025, with her family at her side.

Born in Beverly, MA, on March 14, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Everett A. and Elizabeth K. (McLellan) Clarke. Raised in Middleton and Beverly MA, she graduated from Beverly High School with the Class of 1951.

A devoted homemaker first and foremost, Bette also dedicated many years to public service. She served on several boards and in local government positions for the Town of Seabrook, most notably as a Selectman for 12 years, and as a member of the Nuclear Regulatory Board. During her service, she established and ran the town's GED program for many years and played an important role in the development of numerous town buildings and policies.

Bette was an avid golfer and a talented artist. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, music, and dancing. She volunteered her time with both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, as well as the Seabrook Town Library.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Francis Thibodeau, who passed in 2003.

Surviving family members include her children, Lisa Goddard, Aline Cross, David Thibodeau, Deirdre Greene and her husband John, and Phil Thibodeau; her siblings, Maryann Campana and Barbara Ward; grandchildren, Bryan, Hannah, Ariana, John and Frankie and several great‑grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Thibodeau, who passed in August 2025.

Visitation will be held from 4–7 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home–Crematory in Hampton. Services will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2025, at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
