Eleanor E. (Pratt) Ward Obituary

Castle Hill - Eleanor passed peacefully in her sleep at the hospital in Presque Isle, Maine, on November 21, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late John J. Ward.


Born in Allison, PA on April 24, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Daisy Pratt, and was predeceased by her sister, June Ward.


Eleanor will be lovingly missed by her eight children, Karen Dalton, Kevin Ward, Kathy Smith, Virginia Turner, Nancy Lees, John Ward, Jr. Eleanor D'Agostino and Robert Ward; her 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.


She worked eleven years at the Northeast National Bank as an assistant treasurer.


She and her husband, John, moved to Fort Pierce, Florida , where she lived for 29 years. After her husband's death, she moved back to Massachusetts and lived for two years with her daughter, Virginia. She then moved to Maine to live with her daughter Kathe, until her death.


She loved playing card games, Mexican Train and Mahjong with family and all of her friends in the Golden Ponds clubhouse and the Bourne Council on Aging. Eleanor's visits to Amesbury where always game nights and visiting her family and friends in the surrounding area.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 , at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA, from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., immediately followed by a Funeral Service at the Funeral Home then the Graveside Service at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury, where Eleanor will be laid to eternal rest on the same grave as her husband.
