Newburyport - Eleanor Clarice Varmette, 70, of Newburyport, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2023, at Maplewood Rehab in Amesbury, after a courageous battle with cancer. Eleanor is survived by her loving husband, Herbert Wayne Varmette Sr, and their devoted son, Herbert Wayne Varmette Jr. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary, Leona Chase, Lenny, and Evelyn. A celebration of Eleanor's life will be held at a later date at Old South Church, Newburyport, with a burial in the Spring at Wildwood Cemetery.
